Setting Abyss Web Server X1

A friend has ask me on how to setup a free web server on a computer, so I decided to write a simple guide to install a free web server from Aprelim Technologies. Here goes...

1. Install Abyss Web Server X1 (Version 2.3.2) .

• Download the free web server here. Double click the setup file.


•

2. After finishing installing the web server, run the server.

• Select Yes to run the server.


• You will see the icon on the system tray.


• Press OK to configure the web server.

3. Configure the web server.

• Select a language. Should be English right.No need to ask me.


• Setup an administrator login and password. Choose your login id wisely and remember the password. Don't lost it.

4. Login to web server.

• You will ask to login to the web server. Enter your login id and password.


• Once you login correctly, you will see the web server console. To know more on configure the web console, please come back to this blog again. I'll be writing on how to use the console soon. You can also go to Aprelim Technologies web site for more information.

5. Testing the web server.

• Open your Web browser and type "localhost" in the address field. If the web server sucessfully configure, you will see the following page.


• To login to the web server console, you can type at the address field with "http://localhost:9999".

Ripping DVD using ImTOO DVD Ripper

Been looking around the web for information on DVD ripper. This simple guide is to show you how to rip a DVD into other format using one of the great software ImTOO DVD Ripper.
Okay Let's start working...

1. Install ImTOO DVD Ripper:

• Download ImTOO DVD Ripper at here. Take note ImTOO DVD Ripper is not a freeware. You can try the trial version but if you know how to find the crack or purchase the product then no problem.

2. Select a profile:

• Run the software and select a profile. By selecting a profile, you can save the ripped video into different encoding format such as DIVX, XIVD, etc.


• 

3. Load a DVD:

• Insert the DVD movie to your DVD drive. Select the DVD icon and load the DVD drive.


• 

4. Select a Destination directory:

• Select a directory to save your ripped movie.


• 

5. Ripping Selection and Start ripping:

• You can select what to rip by check or uncheck the box. Press the red record button to start ripping.


• 

6. Wait and enjoy the movie once finish:

• The ripping process will take quite long so you can rip the DVD during night time and leave it on until next day.


• Once the ripping process has finished, go to the destination directory and select the movie. You may need some codec to watch the moive.

Something I download recently. Microsoft Virtual PC. You can run mulitple OS in a PC without actual partition your harddisk for the new OS. Great for those want to try new OS before actually install it. Waiting for the new Microsoft OS Vista.
